Akeem Olabode Mustapha

Advert Manager: Media Trust Limited

Akeem Olabode Mustapha has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Political Science, with a specialisation in Public Administration, from the University of Lagos.

 

Mustapha holds several certificates and a diploma in advertising. In 2000, he was the recipient of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON’s) OCL Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Principles of Advertising. He has also been awarded the STB-McCann Award for Excellence in Copy Writing and Layout as well as the Dorothy Ovbiagele Prize for the Best Graduating Student in Principles of Advertising.

 

Mustapha started his career at the Daily Times in Nigeria. He left the company in 2003 as

Senior-Advertising Executive to join The Diplomat Magazine in Accra, Ghana, as the Business Co-ordinator and Advertising Sales Executive for West Africa. He played a key role in the publication of a special edition of The Diplomat Magazine, on the 50th Independence Anniversary of Ghana.

 

In 2004, he was appointed Head of Advertising for the FS African Standard Newspaper. Mustapha resigned from the position in May 2005 to work briefly with BusinessWeek as Advert Manager. In January 2006, he joined Business Day Newspaper, Lagos, as Deputy Advert Manager, a position he held until November 2010.

 

In 2011, Mustapha joined Media Trust Limited in Abuja as Advert Manager and is currently responsible for all the Media Trust Limited Group’s newspapers.

 

Mustapha is a member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria.
