Lekan Otufodunrin

Managing Editor: The Nation

Lekan Otufodunrin holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. He has worked for various media organisations in Nigeria, including Punch Newspapers, the Financial Standard, the New Age and The Nation, where he is currently Managing Editor, Online and Special Publications. Prior to his current post, he was the Group News and Political Editor of Punch Newspapers and the Sunday Editor of The Nation.

 

Otufodunrin is a member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists and Nigeria Guild of Editors. He is an adjunct lecturer at the Mass Communication Department of University of Lagos and a Professional External Examiner at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism.

 

He is the founder of Media Career Development Service, a training and research organisation committed to the development of the media in Nigeria, which initiated the Nigerian Young Journalists Conference and Awards.

 

His publications include Purpose Driven Journalism, Excelling in Journalism and Media Career Diary.

 

Otufodunrin is a fellow of the Thomson Foundation, Cardiff, UK and the Poynter Institute (School for Journalists), Florida, USA. He is also a Governing Board member of Journalists Against AIDS, Nigeria.
