Mma-tshepo Mokgoko

Assistant

Mma-tshepo Mokgoko is assistant to the Executive Director of the ALI Media Fellowship Programme. Her experience, which spans over 9 years, began in the field of Events Management and steadily extended to include PR, Media and Communications.

 

Over the years, Mma-tshepo has worked in a communications and project management capacity on various campaigns such as the 2013 Proteas Home Summer Series Supporting Events, Mzansi International Motorsport Show, Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism Centenary Celebration Calendar, brandhouse DrinkIQ Workshops, SAFPU/Liberty Financial Literacy Workshops, Sanlam Bayazenzela, King Goodwill Zwelithini 54th and 55th Birthday Celebration sponsored by King Korn, Smirnoff 1818 Win a Bakkie Competition, NWPG Its Your Budget Become a Player Campaign, Metrobus Campus Tours, Durban Tourism Summer Campaign 2012 to mention a few.

 

Mma-tshepo has worked as a journalist on various print media platforms from student publications to community and commercial publications. She also has experience in broadcast media (radio) as a news reader.

 

Beyond the Media and Events arena, Mma-tshepo is passionate about children and community development. In 2009 and 2010, she formed a part of a group of young individuals from the corporate space who pooled together to form a project that focused on providing extra lessons to students at Bopasenatla School in Soweto. The project offered extra lessons in English, Maths and Science. Mma-tshepo also, volunteered as an English Literacy teacher during 2007 and 2008, at Ntaba Maria School in Grahamstown. She currently teaches Sunday School at her church in Edenvale.

 

Mma-tshepo holds a Post graduate Diploma in Media Management (PDMM) from Rhodes University as well as a BA degree in Journalism and Politics from the same institution. She was also one of four recipients from Africa, to be awarded the MTN Scholarship in 2009.
